Barossa Valley Dental Dentures

The latest technological advancements in the dental industry mean that dentures are much more comfortable and offer a more natural look and feel compared to years gone by. The process of fitting, adjusting, and developing dentures is now a relatively straightforward process.

However, when it comes to quality dentures and exemplary patient care, there is no better dental clinic in Barossa Valley than Barossa Valley Dental. We are a trusted name in the region for developing, fitting, and adjusting dentures.

Denture Procedure

Regardless of what type of denture you choose, all our patients go through a similar procedure when fitting or adjusting dentures. During the first visit, our expert dentists will evaluate the condition of your gum tissue and bone structure to work out the best dentures for you. Oral surgery might be needed to make your mouth more suitable for dentures.

If a tooth extraction is required, we will fit an immediate set of dentures to help you during the recovery process. After the surgery, our dentist will make impressions of your bite and mouth to develop the final set of dentures to suit your personal needs. Over the period of a couple of appointments, your dentures will be adjusted until they fit and work just like your natural teeth.

Types Of Dentures

Partial Dentures

If you are missing one or more teeth in your mouth, a partial or removable set of dentures will be fitted. The replacement teeth will be connected to a plastic base with a metal frame. You may have to visit the dental office more than once to complete this particular procedure.

Complete Dentures

If you have no remaining teeth in the upper or lower jaw, a complete denture is the most effective solution. These are basically a full set of removable false teeth in which there are two different types – immediate and conventional.

Immediate dentures can be fitted straight away once the procedure is finished. These are temporary dentures that are designed to fill the patient’s mouth while they recover. Conventional denture sets are made post-surgery. The dentist will wait until the patient’s gums are fully recovered before fitting these dentures which can take up to 2-3 months after the surgery.
